Hotel Restaurant 't Ronde Loegh is located in one of the historic buildings in Winschoten. We have recently completely renovated this beautiful building, providing it with all the modern conveniences, but retaining the characteristic values worthy of the hotel. At the beginning of 2024, 't Ronde Loegh will open its doors to guests and hotel guests who want to enjoy a pleasant and comfortable stay or a delicious lunch, drink or dinner.
Renting one of our rooms for a party, meeting or other occasion is also part of the possibilities. Please inquire at our reception or via 0597-418472 or info@rondeloegh.nl.
Where does the name 't Ronde Loegh come from?
Het Marktplein is one of the oldest places in the city of Winschoten. In 1544, this area around the church was known as "het Rond Loegh", which at the time was the actual Winschoten. This name was used elsewhere in the province for dorpskern. According to witness statements, there were no more than 30 to 40 houses. We thought it would be appropriate to bring this name back and make it more widely known.
What does our logo stand for?
The Adrillenmarkt has stood on the Market Square for almost 200 years. Traditionally, this still takes place on the first Monday of November, and to this day it is the largest market in the Netherlands. At its peak, 2,170 animals were sold in one day at this market. These were mainly cows, horses, goats, piglets and sheep. Because this number continued to decline, it was decided to abolish the livestock market. Adrillen now consists of a goods market with a fair. To bring back this feeling, we have incorporated a cowbell into our logo.
